2026 recipient of the Lester W. Strock Award

Professor Kevin Wilkinson (Université de Montréal)

The International Atomic Spectrometry Association (IASA) and the New England Section of the Society for Applied Spectroscopy (SAS) are thrilled to announce the 2026 recipient of the Lester W. Strock Award in recognition of a selected publication of substantive research in/or application of analytical atomic spectrochemistry in the fields of earth science, life sciences, or stellar and cosmic sciences.

Kevin Wilkinson is a Professor in Environmental Chemistry at the Université de Montréal (UdeM). His research is aimed at gaining a molecular level understanding of contaminant bioavailability and mobility, especially for colloidal particles and trace metals in water, air, soils and biota. Professor Wilkinson has established a world-class laboratory at the UdeM, where they are studying complex environmental problems using advanced analytical infrastructure (e.g. SP QQQ ICPMS, SP high resolution ICPMS, SP TOF ICPMS, analytical ultracentrifugation, dynamic and static light scattering, hydrodynamic chromatography, nanoparticle tracking analysis, darkfield microscopy and fluorescence correlation spectroscopy). Wilkinson has over 200 publications, over 17,000 citations to his work and an h-index of 72. He is Associate Editor for Environmental Chemistry (2010- ) and Env. Sci.: Nano (2022- ). In 2018, his research was recognized by the Canadian Institute of Chemistry (Dima Environmental Research Award).

Prof. Wilkinson will receive this award at the 2026 SciX Conference in Sparks, NV, where he will deliver a keynote lecture and organize a special awards symposium.

Please join us in celebrating this remarkable achievement and his continued contributions to advancing scientific understanding and innovation.
